Stepper | Interlocking Mechanical Puzzle

The Stepper (18.2.3.2.2) is a slight variation of the One Step Closer (16.11.4.3.2.3). Both the Stepper and One Step Closer are interlocking puzzles designed by Alexander Magyarics in 2021. When solved, the pieces will fill the void spots on three of the faces of the cage. It'll take a little dexterity, but easy to handhold with the voxel size being 1/2" (3" cubed).

The Domestic variant is made from reclaimed domestic woods; the white woods are a mixture of Oak, Maple, Cherry, Beech and Ash while the contrasting color wood is Walnut. The frame was built with a corner cube being the contrasting wood for aesthetics.

The exotic variants will differ as the frames are built to your liking. The pieces are built using domestic American woods for contrast.

  • Domestic
  • Sapele

The Limited Series variants are built on demand:

The OMG COLORS are all true unique variants of mixed exotic woods of whatever wood species we have on hand, from common exotics to the ultra rare's. Minimum of 15 wood species would be used. No two OMG COLORS puzzles will ever be the same.

The signature piece is laser engraved with "Baz".
The puzzle is finished with matte lacquer.

One Tough Puzzle

I have spent a lifetime enjoying the challenge of three-dimensional wooden puzzles (and I mean “a lifetime,” I’m 65 years old). Not only do I like the sense of satisfaction from solving them, but I love the beauty of the wood and the craftsmanship involved in their construction. The puzzles from Baz are among the most beautifully crafted I have found. They are also some of the most difficult to solve. In all my years, I have never failed to solve a puzzle - well, until now, that is. So far, I have been unable to master this puzzle… so far. The Stepper is as difficult to solve as it is beautiful to look at. You will admire how challenging this puzzle is, and how lovely it looks on display (even if there is still one piece hiding behind it on your shelf).
